Thank You & Trending Friday

THANK YOU to everyone on the front lines that is working tirelessly around the clock on combatting the pandemic…closest to me is my brother, an ER doctor, in Colorado…may you all get through these days and nights safely. 

Trending Friday…it’s been an unprecedented week globally and will continue for some time…many employers and schools have closed and people are working from home while home schooling and social distancing…here are a few ways people are coping (humor and creativity are part of the recipe for success!):

*working with new ‘co-workers’ (‘Take Your Kids To Work’) who get training, schedules, performance reviews, benefits, rewards, and more…by the end of this week, there’s a trend for invisible co-workers with real names to keep marriages intact (someone else to blame for the mess!)

*engaging with teams, clients, vendors, etc. through virtual meetings with virtual backgrounds, creative ways to make meetings more engaging and fun (e.g. wearing silly hats, e.g. games…’guess whose slippers these are?’), and despite the huge lay-offs in some sectors, some companies are continuing to hire and virtually onboard new hires

*maintaining social circles (and sanity) amidst all the cancellations of “life” by participating in virtual happy hours or coffee chats with drinks in hand (using tools like Zoom)
